“We are a Unity ministers organization dedicated to the teachings of Jesus Christ as interpreted by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. We provide spiritual and professional support to our members through prayer, fellowship and educational opportunities that engages them in their own spiritual growth and assists them in fulfilling their call to ministry.“
Our mission has not changed from its initial purpose; however, our focus may change from time to time. The Board of the Independent Alliance of Ministers in Unity, DBA, Unity Ministers Alliance (UMA), revisits our Mission Statement periodically to assure it still reflects our purpose and commitments.
In recent years some of our colleagues have moved away from our foundational teachings citing that a more contemporary approach is preferred in today’s world. We hold that the Unity teachings are timeless and are especially relevant in today’s world.
The change of focus in the above Mission Statement reflects our ongoing commitment to our foundational teachings, which are a metaphysical interpretation of the teachings of Jesus Christ. In this, we support Unity Worldwide Ministries in their commitment to these teachings as indicated by the following statement:
“Unity is a positive, practical, progressive approach to Christianity based on the teachings of Jesus and the power of prayer. Unity honors the universal truths in all religions and respects each individual’s right to choose a spiritual path.”
